This site contains notes and resources for the USCOTS 2019 workshop on "Moving beyond p values: Stats for data science".

The workshop illustrates a way to teach statistics that takes seriously the repeated recommendations from scientists, statisticians, and the American Statistical Association to move past the traditional emphasis on null-hypothesis testing. The workshop illustrates doing this by centering introductory statisticson the needs of today's "data scientists." At the core of this are modeling and inferential techniques designed around making decisions with data.
